Facebook introduced the ‘Oculus Quest 2’ virtual reality (VR) title at the Connect AR / VR event. ‘Oculus Quest 2’ virtual reality glasses, whose pre-orders will begin on September 22, will begin delivery on October 13.
Coming with special in-ear headphones and a battery pack, the virtual reality VR headset Oculus Quest 2 has the highest resolution display ever. It is also 503 grams lighter, 10 percent lighter than the previous generation. It also comes in at $ 299 in the US, $ 100 cheaper than the previous Oculus headset.
Facebook also aims to make smart glasses in 2021 and wants to jointly make and launch a Ray-Ban branded smart glasses for these smart glasses together with the world-famous glasses manufacturer Ray-Ban.
Facebook’s partnership with EssilorLuxottica to make smart glasses will help people stay better connected by combining Facebook apps and technologies, Luxottica’s leadership in the eyewear market, and Essilor’s advanced lens technology. The first product will be Ray-Ban branded and will be launched in 2021.
Oculus Quest 2 VR Specifications
Oculus Quest 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Platform processor paired with 6GB of RAM. It has the highest resolution display offered by the company, with 1832 x 1920 pixels per eye. The VR headset is claimed to have a longer battery life of up to 3 hours. With the increased graphics processing power of Quest 2, this new display can support 90 Hz. There are two different color options, light gray and black.
